ST. PETERS IN THE RUSHES, REMPSTONE

N52.81894
  W001.16160

St Peters in the Rushes was Rempstone’s church up the 1770s. Due to its remoteness it was decided to build a church 0.75 miles nearer the village. The present church, All Saints, was built mainly from the materials of the old church and was opened by the Archbishop of York in 1773. About 20 headstones mark the site of the original church and during the last 200 years of this church there were approximately 950 burials including that of six former Rectors of Rempstone.
